The GT1542 is a lightweight, standard-height, 4-section Series 1 , featuring Carbon eXact tubes with larger tube diameters for significant improvements in stiffness.

The top leg section diameter is 25.3mm and the tripod is carefully matched with a GH1382QD centre ball head, which guarantees a high maximum load and features Gitzo’s unique, exclusive technical solutions, such as the hollow Bubble Ball,Spring-Assisted Double Lock(SADL) and a hybrid quick release system (supplied with an Arca-Swiss style plate, but also accepts Gitzo C Profile  ).

This  is more rigid and stronger than other carbon tripods in its category and a rapid centre column is easily removed and has a reversible column mechanism. This feature transforms the legs into a ground level set-up, enabling photographers to capture low level and close-up macro shots.

The Gitzo GT1542 four-section legs are secured by G-lock Ultra twist locks, with a built-in O-ring that keeps dirt and dust out of the leg mechanism. The tripod’s top spider is newly designed for extra rigidity, and large leg angle selectors provide a broader grip-area for leg-angle adjustment. The tripod features a stabiliser hook on its centre column to add weight and increase stability when required. A wide array of heads and other accessories can easily be added via the 1/4? and 3/8? attachment on the upper disc.
