Vanguard BA-185 Binocular Tripod Adaptor

The BA-185 Binocular Tripod Adaptor allows you to attach your binoculars onto a tripod or monopod for clear, stable, hands-free viewing over extended periods.

 

It works with any roof prism binocular that has a standard 1/4″ thread socket between the objective lenses, and on most models it’s thin bridge will still allow you to set your bincular to the minimum interpupillary distance adjustment.

To attach the BA-185 to the binocular, simply take off the cap on the front of your binoculars between the objective lenses to reveal the 1/4″ threaded socket and screw in the adaptor tightly.

To attach the BA-185 (and binoculars) directly to the tripod/monopod, then simply screw the adaptor onto the 1/4″ thread.  Please note, it will not fit a 3/8″ thread that can be found on larger tripods.  In this case, you will need to attach the BA-185 to a tripod head.

To attach the BA-185 (and binoculars) onto a tripod head, then simply screw the adaptor onto the 1/4″ thread of the quick release plate and use the tripod head as normal. This has the added advantage of allowing you to aim the binoculars much more easily.
